Steve Weston was introduced to his future career in metal spinning during a school work experience program in Sydney.
After formal training he went on to serve as foreman in metal spinning plants in Sydney, Wollongong and then Brisbane.
Then two years ago Mr Weston started out on his own in Sydney, then transferred his operations to a factory at Russell Vale. He has now relocated to larger premises at Oak Flats so he will have space for further expansion.
Some of his handiwork is already being exported in products made for a Unanderra industrial refrigeration company and sent to India and Asia and a Sydney lighting manufacturer which sells around the world.
Mr Weston is also producing copper kitchenware, pewter goblets, steel and aluminium ends for pressure vessels, satellite communication dishes, mag wheels and other items for the go-kart and motor racing industries, and headlights and muffler systems for car restorers.
